New SPC Toolkit for Scalable DevOps and the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
The DevOps movement is here, and SAFe enterprises look to this mindset, culture and sets of principles and technical practices as a way to move from traditional delivery approaches to empowering Agile Release Trains to continuously deliver value to their end users. With the movement maturing, the availability of Gene Kim’s The DevOps Handbook, and the realization of DevOps and Continuous Delivery in SAFe 4.5, a wealth of knowledge is now available to enable enterprises to turn theory into proven practices.
The new SAFe Scalable DevOps and Continuous Delivery Toolkit for SPCs provides an overview of Scalable DevOps and the Continuous Delivery Pipeline. The toolkit includes a one- to two-hour briefing focused on improving collaboration between Development and Operations, and enabling a Continuous Delivery Pipeline. Attendees leave the briefing with a high-level understanding of what problems DevOps solves, SAFe’s CALMR approach to DevOps, and the workflows, activities, and automation needed to provide a continuous release of value to the end user.
SPCs will find it most useful to deliver the briefing to ART DevOps stakeholders who want to understand the concepts and begin improving their DevOps and continuous delivery practices. This toolkit is a free SAFe Community Platform asset available to all current SPCs for use in their implementations.
Download the toolkit from the SAFe Community Platform and use it with DevOps stakeholders to create a shared understanding of the problem DevOps solves.
Cheers and be SAFe!
